Madame Alexander Dolls
This Alexander doll is dressed like a Christmas Annalee girl Elf in a red jumper with a green undershirt, a red candy cane slip and striped stockings. She has green pointed elf shoes with red pompoms on the tips and a large red hat with a Poinsettia at the tip. She comes with an felt Annalee matching stuffed boy Elf.
Annalee Thorndike was a doll maker who created meticulous dying of felt fabric and freehand painting of doll faces. She fashioned her creations directly from the activities of her two sons who were always skiing, swimming or otherwise engaged in what children do best. There is no doubt that this is why Annalee picked more then one mischievous, whimsical face for each of her doll creations.
